Esporte Clube Bahia is a soccer sports club located in the city of Salvador. Founded on January 1, 1931, by former players of the Bahian Tennis Club and the Bahia Athletic Association, the “Tricolor da Boa Terra” was the first club to win the Brazilian Soccer Championship, in 1959, defeating Santos in the final. It was also the first Brazilian club to participate in the Copa Libertadores de América, in 1960.
