Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, better known as Botafogo, is a club located in a neighborhood of their same name, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It was founded in 1942 after the merger of Club de Regatas Botafogo and Botafogo Football Club. The institution is historically the one that has provided the most players to the Brazilian National Team during the World Cups stages.
