Fortaleza Esporte Clube is a team based in the city of Fortaleza, capital of the northeastern state of Ceará. It was founded on October 18, 1918, by Alcides Santos, one of the state’s greatest athletes. Fortaleza's main achievement is having won the Brazilian Championship of Series B in 2018 with two games to spare, coincidentally the same year of its centenary. They were champions of the Northeast Cup in 2019 and won the Ceará State Championship 43 times.
