Goiás Esporte Clube is a native institution of the city of Goiânia, capital of Goiás state, and is identified with the colors green and white. It currently hosts its home matches at the Hailé Pinheiro Stadium, whose capacity extends to 10.000 people. It was founded on April 6, 1943, and it is the only Goiás club that has participated in the Copa Libertadores de América, in addition to being the greatest champion of its state. Their eternal rivals are Vila Nova and Atlético Goianiense.
