Club Athletico Paranaense was founded on March 26, 1924, after the merger of International Foot-Ball Club and América Futebol Clube. Their matches take place at “Arena da Baixada”, the Joaquim Américo Guimarães stadium, which hosted the 2014 FIFA World Cup. With a retractable roof and a FIFA Pro synthetic grass, it is among the most modern in Latin America. The club's traditional colors are black and red.
